We're thrilled to announce a big upgrade to Chat — live on Wise as of today! 🎉
We've reorganised the whole experience to feel more like WhatsApp: cleaner, clearer, and much easier to navigate. Here's everything that's new:
1. Direct Chats (1-on-1)
Classroom Chats and Admin Chats are now Direct, one-on-one conversations. No more clutter from multiple instructors and admins piled into one thread — every conversation is now simply between two people, focused and easy to follow.
2. Group Chats
A major upgrade for group conversations! You can now create custom groups right within Chat, complete with their own names and hand-picked members. Build exactly the group you need — for a class, a team, or a specific topic.
3. Parent Chats
Parents now get their own dedicated chat, where they can message their student's teachers and admins directly — as themselves.
4. Edit & Delete Messages
Made a typo or need to update something? You can now edit or delete messages after sending — no follow-up message required.
5. Modular Chat Settings
You'll also find more granular control over your chat settings, so you can manage conversations exactly the way you want.
6. Chat Reactions
React to messages with emojis 🎉👍❤️ — a quick, fun way to acknowledge messages and boost engagement.
A note on your existing chats
Don't worry — your earlier Classroom Chats and Admin Chats haven't gone anywhere! They've simply been relabelled as Group Chats with proper names. Just search for them and they'll show up right away.
